Overview

We collect as little data as possible. Our services are designed to work without collecting personal information (note, you can sign up with Apple on the app, if you wish to save your progress across devices). This policy covers both our website (evcourse.com) and our mobile app (EVcourse: Learn EV charging).

Website Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or process personal user data on our website.

When you use the EVcourse website:

• Your inputs are stored locally in your browser only
• We do not maintain a user database
• We do not require account creation

Mobile App Data Collection

The EVcourse app is designed with privacy in mind. No account or sign-up is required to use the app. You can sign up with Apple on the app, if you wish to save your progress across devices.

Data We Collect

Location (with your permission):

• Precise location to show your position on the map
• Used to display relevant charging providers for your region
• Anonymous location data is stored in our analytics to understand regional charging challenges
• Location is not linked to your identity. We cannot identify who was at any location

You can disable location access in your device's Settings app at any time. The app will continue to work with limited functionality.

Usage Data (anonymous):

• Which topics you view (e.g., "Charging basics," "Finding chargers," "Battery care")
• Quiz and flashcard completion
• App version and platform (iOS/Android)

Notifications (optional):

• If you opt in, the app may send push notifications
• You can turn notifications on and off at any time within the app
• We do not use notification data for tracking or advertising

Device Identifier (anonymous):

We generate a random identifier stored locally on your device. This is not your Apple ID, device ID, or any Apple-provided identifier. It helps us prevent spam and abuse of our analytics without identifying you personally.

Tracking

We do not track you. Our app does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because we do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and improve our educational content
• Analyze which quizzes and flashcards are most helpful for EV drivers
• Understand regional charging challenges
• Improve app performance and user experience

Analytics

Website: We use Vercel Analytics to collect aggregate, non-personal usage statistics. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and is GDPR-compliant.

Mobile App: We collect anonymous usage analytics through Supabase to improve our educational content.

Third-Party Services

We do not sell your personal information. We work with the following service providers:

• Vercel: Website hosting and analytics
• Supabase: Database provider for anonymous app analytics
• Expo: App infrastructure and updates

These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their respective privacy policies.

Data Retention

We retain anonymous usage data to improve our service. Since we don't collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal data to delete. You can reset your anonymous identifier by reinstalling the app.

Your Rights and Choices

This Privacy Policy complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable data protection laws.

You can:

• Disable location access: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > EVcourse
• Disable notifications: Turn them off in the app, or go to Settings > Notifications > EVcourse
• Reset your anonymous ID: Delete and reinstall the app
• Clear browser data: Remove locally stored website information in your browser settings
• Request data deletion: Contact us to request deletion of any data associated with your anonymous identifier

App Store Privacy Labels

In accordance with Apple's App Store requirements, here is a summary of our data practices:

• Data Used to Track You: None
• Data Linked to You: None
• Data Not Linked to You: Precise Location, Product Interaction, Diagnostics

Location and usage data is collected for analytics purposes to improve the app, but cannot be used to identify you personally. We use this data to understand which regions have the most charging challenges and which educational content is most helpful.

Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. Data is transmitted securely and stored with our trusted service providers.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.

Advertising

Our app and website are currently ad-free. We reserve the right to introduce advertising in the future. If we do, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect any changes in data collection or sharing related to advertising. Any ads will be clearly labeled, and we will continue to prioritize your privacy.
